Karla took a wide variety of photography courses in college, including her favorite class, Alternative Processes, where she practiced with antique and unusual lenses, HDR, infrared photography, pinhole cameras, and atypical printing processes.

Infrared photography is made with a special camera that records infrared light waves instead of visible spectrum light waves. It makes for some eye-catching contrasts, since things like human skin, foilage, and sky look very different in infrared versus standard black and white photography.
